Runescape: The Beach!

Mon 14th Aug 2017 - 5:46am : Other : Gaming

Monday the 31st of August saw the return of the beach to Runescape. For the past three years, the beach event has overtaken the Lumbridge crater for a month during the summer, allowing players to gain XP in certain skills and gain cosmetic rewards. All of the skilling activities at the beach event are made of traditional seaside and Summer fayre attractions such as: The Coconut Shy – gain XP in the Ranged skill by throwing balls at coconuts to knock them off. Hook a Duck – gain XP in the Hunter skill by hooking yellow rubber ducks with a pole. Barbeques – gain XP in the Cooking skill by grilling up some tasty fish. And much more ready and ripe for the choosing.

It isn’t all skilling activities though, with the return of the beach also comes the return of the boss monster Clawdia, a giant crab who you can band together with your fellow gamers to take down every 45 minutes. There are also treasure maps to follow, a Terrorbird race course to complete and handy portals to all of Runescape’s favourite Distractions and Diversions.

That is one large crustacean.

With all of this going on there best be some fabulous prizes right? Well, there is! From sandcastle and octopus pets to resting animations, cosmetic armor overrides and titles to prove your prowess of certain beach activities why wouldn’t you want to spend your summer here? So I say kick back with a cocktail and get involved with the beach! You won’t even go home with sand in your shoes. is completely funded by its readers.
