OPL Week 3 Recap

Mon 3rd Jul 2017 - 12:09am : LOL : Gaming

Week 3 of the OPL has finished up and now we have Rift Rivals playing tonight to meet our weekly LoL needs until games start back up again next week.

We saw some exciting plays, found new hope in some of the bottom ladder teams and even had a few solid giggles in between. Here's how the week went down, and what we can take away from it.

GAME 1 - SIN Gaming vs Avant Gaming

If you're not a SIN Juves fan, you're just not a SIN fan, but even star status doesn't guarantee Australia's own Meme team a game. AV took down SIN in a very solid 3 game set. SIN took a ggez in game one but then AV just steam rolled them the next 2 games. Nothing less than expected from one of the OPL's oldest teams. My player to watch from these games has to be Triple. He managed to play incredibly well all 3 games and you can see the constant improvement in his macro plays each week.

GAME 2 - Chiefs Esports Club vs Team Regicide

This set went as almost everyone predicted, a clean 2-0 by the most successful team in OPL, the Chiefs took down Regicide in less than an hour of gameplay and taking away that point TGun would have provided with Regicide with. My Player to watch for these guys is Fade. This young jungler has really stepped up to compete with the likes of Spookz and make a name for himself in the OPL.

GAME 3 - TM vs Legacy

Straight up, I award this the game of the week. This set took me on an emotional rollercoaster I was not prepared for, and now I am saving up for all my TM merch.

Legacy took game one after a bit of a shaky early game and TM definitely stood their ground. Game 2 was all TM, they were proactive and for the most part very disciplined for the entirety of the game. Game 3, went on to once again dominate the early game but legacy still has the experience and was able to close it out and take the set. My player to watch, hands down is Lost, and I'd really like to see how he goes on champions Like Lucian and maybe even pull out the Ezreal.

GAME 4 - Dire Wolves vs Abyss Esports Club

The Wolf Pack absolutely dominated this set with a very clean 2-0 against Abyss to close out the week. Abyss tried their best to hang in there but the wolf pack was just too strong. My Player to watch is Rosey, the OPL old timer is definitely showing he's still got it in him and challenging for the top support for supports.
